The Team:
The BC Wildfire Service is the Province of BC’s leading emergency response organization, where you'll be part of the Coastal Fire Centre's established team of around 50 dedicated full-time staff.
The Role:
This position is based within the Operations Section of the Coastal Fire Centre and is responsible for performing a core set of functions related to wildfire preparedness, and response with the Fire Centre. This position will support the Operations Section.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Technical diploma in a field related to forestry or resource management, plus 2 seasons recent related experience*; OR
- Grade 12 plus 4 seasons of related experience*; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- *Related experience is defined as operations or other disciplines related to natural resource management.
- Minimum 2 seasons of supervisory experience.
Additional Requirement:
- Must possess a valid FULL BC driver’s license (minimum class 5). *Learners “L” and Novice “N” license does not meet the job requirement.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) full time auxiliary position available till October 31, 2026 in Parksville, with possibility of recall on a yearly basis. (Auxiliary position normally starts in approximately February and ends in October)
This position has full time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
