The Team
At BC Corrections, the Adult Custody team works together to support community safety while providing care, supervision, and rehabilitation services for adults in custody. As part of a diverse and collaborative team, the ADW Staffing Assistant contributes to creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment that recognizes the unique backgrounds, experiences, and needs of individuals in custody, colleagues, and community partners. The Role
As the ADW Staffing Assistant, you will provide administrative support to multiple leaders within the correctional centre, helping ensure staffing, programs, operations, and services run effectively. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and strong organizational skills when handling confidential information and supporting a diverse range of employees and partners.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years experience (within last 5 years) providing administrative support to management.
- Experience working with diverse work teams.
- Experience with MS Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
- Minimum of 50 words per minute (WPM) in keyboarding.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Administrative support experience in a Correctional facility.
- Experience in the use of the Records Management System ARCS/ORCS.
- Experience with CORNET and/or RISC data base systems.
