The Team
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is a unique program of government tasked with the responsibility of preventing and managing wildfire on the landscape. With a workforce of approximately 1600 the program’s staff are dedicated to undertaking the BCWS mandate in delivering effective wildfire management and emergency response support to protect values, while encouraging sustainable, healthy and resilient ecosystems.
The Role
The Operations Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Smithers and Dease Lake Zones within the Northwest Fire Centre. This is a great opportunity to join a positive, hardworking team and build a career in public service with plenty of room to grow.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Experience working in an office setting.

About this Position:
There is currently 1 position available. The successful candidate must work in office full time during fire season (April 1-November 1), but may be able to work from home for up to 2 days per week outside of fire season subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary opportunities.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
