The Team
With clinicians in Creston, Fernie, Invermere, and Golden, The Rural East Kootenay Team is a dedicated, collaborative and supportive group who deliver mental health services across the smaller, rural areas of the East Kootenay. On this team you’ll experience the warmth, flexibility, and shared purpose that define how we work together to reduce the stigma and impact of mental health challenges for children, youth, and families. You'll also connect with a broad network of professionals, from school counsellors to pediatricians, all working together to make a meaningful difference.
The Role
As a CYMH Clinician with the Rural East Kootenay Team, you screen, assess, and treat children and youth up to age 19 who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges. Your work literally changes—and sometimes saves—lives, helping families function better and young people build brighter futures. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
