The Role
As a Wildfire Operations Assistant, you’ll play a key role in the Zone by supporting the team with inquiries, various administration duties, procurement, finance, daily costing, and ensuring invoices are accurate and ready for payment. Your work has a direct impact, helping to keep operations running smoothly and supporting those on the front lines. Job Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- 1 or more years of experience working in an office setting
Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
- 1 or more years of experience working with Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams and One Note.
- Experience working with a wide cross section of the provincial population.
- Experience communicating via email, phone, text, and in person, often in a time sensitive manner.
Provisos /Willingness statements
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments and corporate structures
- To keep current on emerging issues
- To take in-house training and certification as required
- To work extended hours, including weekends, and be on standby with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan
- To travel and overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required
- To participate in Incident Command System positions assigned

This position is located in Kamloops and has full time on-site requirements. The Ministry office is located at 4000 Airport Road, with free secure parking available.
